Kansas Lottery investigate thefts

It wasn’t that long ago that a store clerk claimed a winning jackpot prize of $100,000 that wasn’t his to claim and it could be stories like this that have led to the Kansas Lottery to investigate thefts by store clerks. Following the investigation six people have been arrested over five different counties for attempted theft of lottery winnings. We doubt that this is the only one of the world lotteries that is subject to such underhand shenanigans.
Here at World Lottery we have always recommended that people buy their lottery tickets online and when you read about how the investigation was held by the Kansas Lottery team, you will definitely think about doing so if you don’t already.
The ‘sting’ was simple by the team from the Kansas Lottery, officers tried to claim their winnings with lottery tickets only to be told that the tickets in question were not winners. The ticket was then withheld by the clerk and later would be presented to claim the cash either by the person in question or an associate.
Six counties, Hutchinson, Wichita, Goodland, Shawna, Kansas and BelAire, all had clerks charged with Attempted Theft and Computer Crime and another suspect is currently under investigation from Liberal.
This is probably not the only investigate by some of the state lottery commissions, many are sure to be ongoing and once again, it reiterates our belief that you are safer purchasing your lottery tickets online for the game of your choice. At least all ticket is registered to your name and address and you have indisputable proof that the claim is yours and yours only!
