Italian Lottery prize with a difference

The SuperEnalotto has recently put Italy well and truly on the map with the bumper lottery jackpot that sent the whole world crazy but today we have news of another Italian Lottery but this is an Italian Lottery prize with a difference. In times of economic crisis, jobs are almost as hard to come by as a lottery prize and that’s why one Italian Supermarket chain is offering a job as the prize in this lottery draw with a difference to be held next month.

Now the SuperEnalotto is well known for its gigantic payouts, just a few weeks ago a massive €146.9 million was won on the lottery, and while this prize might not be as big as that, for many Italian jobseekers, winning a job would be almost as good.

There are ten jobs up for grabs in the Italian Lottery draw and each one is guaranteed for a year, with the potential for an extended contract. The unusual lottery is being run by a supermarket chain based in Varese in Northern Italy and every customer who spends at least €28 on groceries will get a ticket.

There will be around 700,000 lottery cards given out in total and the draw will be held next month. While this draw doesn’t come close to the massive prize given out by the SuperEnalotto last month, in times of economic crisis, the chain are sure that there will be plenty willing to take up this chance of some job security.
