The luck of the Irish really was the case on Saturday night’s Irish Lottery draw. The Irish Lottery winners have come forward after they successfully matched all 6 main numbers. The McIntyre family won the €11,033,593 jackpot, one of the largest jackpots to date on this lottery. They are from a small farming and fishing community in Ballyglass, Belmullet, Co Mayo. As this was the thirteenth time a rollover had happened on the Irish Lottery, it proves that the number 13 can in fact be lucky for some.

Saturday night's draw gathered a lot of attention due to the impressive jackpot that was an offer. Almost 70,000 players managed to secure themselves a win in one of the seven available prize tiers. This volume of winners isn’t something that is witnessed a lot in Irelands biggest lottery. The last time the Irish Lottery saw a large amount of winners was back in March of this year, when the jackpot was worth over €14 million and 78,265 players scooped a win in any of the seven prize tiers.
Becoming an overnight millionaire isn’t something that happens every day, so no doubt time is needed to let this information settle in. The biggest win on record from the Irish Lottery was won by a syndicate of sixteen work colleagues in Bennekerry, Carlow who scooped the jackpot of €16,717,717 in April 2010.
The winning ticket was a €4 quickpick and was bought last Friday by one of the McIntyre family members. This win for the family from Mayo really does prove that you never know when you will win the lottery and luck will be on your side.
