Irish Lottery Winner Can Collect Winnings

Irish Lottery This week we brought you a story of how one Irish Lottery player had left Lottery HQ empty handed over some confusion over the tickets ownership. The ticket had been left in the shop after being purchased and therefore wasn’t in the hands of the lottery winner. The great news is that the Irish Lottery winner can collect winnings after being given the all-clear by lottery officials.

Mr Finglas the lottery winner had purchased the ticket in a local store, leaving his ticket on the counter, honest shopkeeper Tom Heavey signed his name on it and then tracked down the winner to ensure that he got his lottery winnings.

However the signature had caused some problems and lottery officials for the Irish Lottery needed to confirm that Mr Finglas was the tickets owner before paying out. This meant that Mr Finglas left Irish Lottery headquarters empty handed after going to collect his winnings earlier this week.

However all’s well that ends well and now an Irish Lottery spokeswoman has confirmed that the Irish Lottery are now ready to pay out Mr Finglas now that inquiries are complete.

The lucky gentleman won €350,000 on the Irish Lottery but wouldn’t have even been aware of his win without the honesty of the lucky shopkeeper, we think it very unlikely that he will leave his ticket in the shop again but thankfully this story has had a happy ending. No doubt he’ll be wanting to buy Mr Heavey a drink or two when he collects his Irish Lottery winnings.
