An Irish Lottery winner almost had her dreams shattered before they had even begun when she had her winning cheque for her Irish Lottery Jackpot stolen. The cheque for €40,000 had only just been collected from Lottery headquarters when a pickpocket stole the cheque from her husbands’ wallet while they were dining at a restaurant celebrating their good fortune.
The retired couple were enjoying a celebratory dinner near the headquarters after picking their winning cheque up, Mrs Kehoe told her husband to take everything out of his wallet except for the cheque to ensure it would remain safe. During their meal Mr Kehoe needed to use the bathroom and unfortunately got locked in and it seems that this is when the thief took the opportunity to steal the cheque from the pocket of Mr Kehoe’s jacket left hanging on the chair.
