The winning numbers on Friday were 11, 20, 35, 37 and 45 with Lucky Stars 3 and 6 and more than 1.8 million other participants across the nine participating nations celebrated wins ranging from €4.90 (£3.10) for matching two main balls to €218,998 (£141,002) for matching five main numbers and one Lucky Star.

Friday’s winner will receive Ireland’s seventh biggest EuroMillions jackpot, worth just half a million Euro less than the bounty claimed by a family syndicate in June 2009. Eire’s first top prize win in the pan-European lottery, the €115.4 million received by Limerick’s Dolores McNamara in 2005, remains its largest to date. The last Irish jackpoit win came in January of this year, when a work syndicate from Dublin claimed €88.5 million.

It was the second jackpot to be pocketed in the space of a week, following an anonymous UK player’s €100 million (£87.5 million) success on Friday 30th June. The jackpot will now reset to its base of €17 million (£14 million) in time for Tuesday night’s draw.

Players hoping to write their names onto the EuroMillions winners’ roster can buy tickets at authorised retailers in any participating country, or choose their numbers online.
