Intralot proposes MedLotto

Greek Lottery firm Intralot have put forward an interesting proposal this week for a Mediterranean Lottery, Intralot proposes MedLotto to improve ties between Mediterranean countries and believes it could create a lottery to rival the Euromillions.
Intralot runs betting games in more than a dozen countries around the world and has recently been seeking new contracts outside Greece to benefit from world gaming markets. They have now called on Mediterranean countries to create a joint lottery that could help to boost ties in the region.
The intention is to build a lottery based on a model similar to the Euromillions Lottery which launched in 2004 and plays in nine European counties. The hope is that the MedLotto would help bolster ties and create new jobs in the regions.
Whether there is room or money for another Europe-wide lottery is something that will no doubt be up for scrutiny as the plans take hold but the idea of a MedLotto would certainly be an interesting one and this is one bit of lottery news that we will be keeping an eye one, bringing you more details as they emerge.
Of course anyone in any of the European countries has their own local lottery to play, including the UK National Lottery, Superenalotto and others, plus the Europe-wide Euromillions Lottery and this new lottery would just add to that.
America has several state lotteries for players to partake in, including the Mega Millions and Powerball Lottery and this move would certainly put Europe on a par.
