Hunt Is On For California’s Latest Mega Millions Jackpot Winner

Mega Millions fans across America are waiting to find out more about the latest jackpot winner after a single player from California pocketed a jackpot of $61 million in last Friday’s draw. The ticket was bought at an Orange County 7-Eleven store in Laguna Hills, transforming the lucky participant’s life in an instant.

The winning numbers for the draw on Friday 28th April were 6, 13, 18, 20 and 31, with Mega Ball 13. The player with the matching ticket now has a year to come forward and claim their prize, and can decide whether to take the full jackpot amount in annual instalments over 29 years, or accept a one-off cash payment of around $37.3 million. The winner has been urged to sign the back of their ticket and keep it in a safe place until such a time as they are ready to contact officials.

The Mega Millions jackpot has now been won twice in the space of a month, after a Texan lottery fan scooped $177 million with a ticket bought in Arkansas for the draw on Friday 31st March. California also had another jackpot winner to celebrate back on 27th January, when one ticket holder landed $191 million.

It has been an exciting start to 2017 for Mega Millions, with the three jackpot winners and the announcement last month that changes will be introduced this October. The rules have been adapted to increase the size of the average jackpot and raise even more money for good causes across participating jurisdictions.

Mega Millions fans can also enjoy the game by choosing numbers online as well as visiting authorised retailers, and a rollover on Tuesday has pushed the top prize back up to $20 million for Friday night’s draw. Good luck!
