Global Lottery Update

global lotteryIt's almost a year now since we brought you news of a Global Lottery draw so we thought we would recap and have a Global Lottery update. This new, global lottery would be run by Camelot and several other lottery organisations and could be played in as many as fifty countries. This of course means lots of players and high jackpots but it also means that planning the lottery and setting it up is a slow process.

Originally the plans for the Global Lottery were to have it up and running as early as 2011 so a year on from that we looked at what was happening.

Well finding information out about the Global Lottery is proving problematic, but we guess things are going ahead. We already know that a meeting between the Powerball Lottery and Camelot has gone well and plans are still in motion for the lottery.

This hopefully means that around a year or so from now you should hear about the launch of a brand new lottery game, the name is not yet decided but it will be a Global Lottery draw designed to dwarf even the big Euromillions and Mega Millions Lotteries.

Fifty countries are hoped to sign up for the draw which could have prize pots at around £500 million per week for the draws. How that cash will be shared between winning players we’re not sure but as soon as we hear anything we’ll bring you details on the world lottery news page.
