Global Lottery talk starts again

With the recession closing in tightly around many, the thoughts of a World Lottery draw have been pushed from the mind’s of many. However, after a lull, the Global Lottery talks have started again this week and the UK National Lottery are back in the middle of it all. Originally it looked as though the company who run the UK National Lottery would launch the draw, however that was around 3 years ago and talk died down, then around a year ago, the US Powerball Lottery organisers showed an interest in picking up the chalice and continuing plans for the Global Lottery draw.
However, now UK National Lottery boss, Dianne Thompson is in active talks with both the US Powerball and Australian Lottery companies in the hope of resurrecting the idea of one World Lottery draw with potentially half a billion in prize money every draw.
It may be the profits announced by the UK National Lottery this week that has inspired them to talk about this plan again, who knows but lottery organisers have this week announced record-breaking profits of £2.7 billion for the six months up to October.
Talk of one big World Lottery draw have been in the pipeline for a long time now and it’s still not known whether the prize would be a mind-bogglingly huge amount, or lots of smaller £1 million prizes. It’s an exciting time and many lottery players are just itching to hear about the Global Lottery, it’s the one everyone wants to be part of!
