It’s not often that the state lottery jackpots exceed the big multi-state lottery draws but that’s exactly what happened when the Florida Lotto just rolled and rolled. By last night’s draw, the Florida Lotto jackpot exceeded both the Mega Millions and Powerball lottery jackpots and at $40 million it had collected a lot of interest. Well the draw went off without a hitch and so it’s time for the Florida Lotto Results, Wednesday 17th August 2011.
The winning numbers in last night’s Florida Lotto draw were 1, 8, 15, 44, 46 and 47; the multiplier was two, and despite the lottery rolling over for weeks and weeks now, two players matched all the winning numbers last night, creating two big jackpot winners.
These two lucky players matched all the winning numbers in last night’s Florida Lottery results and will now share the $40 million jackpot. There will be the issue of lottery taxes and other red tape, but these lucky players aren’t likely to be worrying about that right now.
Across Florida there were also many smaller Florida Lottery winners, including the 43 lucky players who matched just five of the main Florida Lotto balls. Each of those players will collect over $10,000, which may not be a jackpot but it’s worth getting excited about.
The next Florida Lotto draw will be held on Saturday evening and the estimated jackpot for that lottery draw is now $2 million after the midweek winners. Florida Lotto players are now likely to be looking towards the Powerball Lottery as that steadily grows, for big lottery jackpots in the state.
