The Sheriffs’ office in Brevard County, Florida is currently seeking a man who has stolen several hundred dollars worth of scratch cards from stores in the area. The Florida Lottery thief has stolen tickets from several locations in the past few weeks and the local Sheriffs’ office is now seeking the thief from the description given by the shopkeeper victims.
At the end of September the Florida Lottery thief entered the Kaival Discount store in the Melbourne area of the county and stole $300 worth of lottery scratch cards. The thief distracted the store clerk and made off with the tickets while the clerks back was turned. The store immediately contacted the Lottery commission and the tickets are now flagged making them worthless.

A short while later, deputies from the Sheriffs’ office were alerted that a man matching the suspects’ description was attempting to cash winning tickets from the stolen loot at a nearby store. The suspect fled before the deputy’s arrival but was seen driving a red Dodge truck with chrome wheel rims.
It’s suspected that the same Florida lottery thief stole $180 of lottery scratch cards from the Kangaroo convenience store in the county plus $240 of tickets from a 7-11, before this in August he is believed to have stolen $320 in tickets from the Kwik Food Mart in the county.
It seems to me this Florida Lottery thief is not the cleverest thief, as once the lottery scratch cards are reported stolen the tickets are then flagged and become worthless, the moment the winning tickets are fed into any lottery terminal the store clerk is alerted that the tickets are stolen.
