First Powerball jackpot win for Florida

It was only as this year began that we were bringing you breaking news that Florida was joining the Powerball Lottery. Since then the state has seen a few small wins but now the first Powerball jackpot win for Florida has materialised. At $189 million it makes one of the biggest lottery wins ever seen in the state but no lucky winner has yet come forward.
Rollovers are common on both the Powerball Lottery and Mega Millions Lottery and until the beginning of this year, players in Florida couldn’t play either. That just left them with the local Florida Lottery to play but this change has meant that players in Florida have had a chance to win some bumper jackpots.
And what bumper jackpots the Powerball Lottery has had on offer this year, several times it has been over $200 million and this current jackpot was coming close.
It’s not yet known who the lucky Powerball Lottery winner is, just that the jackpot was $189 million and won by a single Florida ticketholder, as we here news about the winner we will endeavour to bring it to you on these pages but for now we would just like to say congratulations to the lucky Powerball Lottery winner who as yet may not even be aware that they have even won.
