Fifth Birthday for Euromillions
18/02/2009 22:03:54
Last Friday was the fifth birthday for the Euromillions Lottery and to celebrate this great event organisers of the lottery offered a jackpot birthday fund for players from the nine participating countries to play in. The draw was held on Friday 13th, a notoriously unlucky day but no matter how you look at it the day certainly brought a lot of luck for Euromillions Lottery players.
The first draw was also held on Friday 13th back in 2004 and the Euromillions Lottery is one of the largest lottery games in the world with nine countries taking place in the draw. It is of course soon to be eclipsed by the planned Global Lottery as that will incorporate up to fifty countries and boast jackpots of up to £250 million.

For such a huge lottery like the Euromillions the overall odds of winning a prize in the lottery are pretty good at one in twenty four, the odds of winning the top prize are quite a bit longer at 1 in 76.2 million but then someone has to win and there have been plenty of big jackpot winners over the last five years since the Euromillions lottery launch.
The lottery has seen some real high points since it’s launch and for anyone who has followed the lottery it’s hard to forget the £125 million won by Dolores McNamara back in July 2005, the highest win on the Euromillions Lottery to date. Angela Kelly become the largest UK winner after scooping £35 million on the lottery back in August 2007.
The Euromillions launched back in 2004 and its once weekly lottery draws are held every Friday evening in Paris, you can play the Euromillions Lottery online by clicking the link above.
