We often here about lottery scams, either postal or via email where unsuspecting people are ripped off for their life savings by being led to think they have won big on a lottery. We’ve just heard news of a Euromillions Lottery Scam doing the rounds and as usual have come to bring you pre-warning in case you receive it. Don’t be fooled by this one even though it has to be said it’s on very convincing notepaper and has a very professional feel.
A couple have come home from a holiday in the Costa Blanca, Spain to find a letter waiting for them, upon opening they see that the letter is on what appears to be headed, embossed notepaper from the Euromillions Lottery. This letter informed the couple that they had won just short of €1 million on the Euromillions Lottery.

Everything about this letter was incredibly convincing, so how did the couple know that it was a scam? Well the answer to that is simple as neither of them actually partake in playing the Euromillions Lottery and as we all know if you haven’t taken part you can’t have possibly won a prize.
It’s the first rule when making decisions about any lottery scam, if you haven’t played the actual lottery then there is no way you could possibly have won a prize. Another thing worth remembering is that if you have won a prize in any world lottery then it is unlikely you will receive notification by letter and there is not one single lottery organisation in the world that would ask you to hand over cash or bank details to receive your win.
Don’t be fooled, you didn’t win and the best place for that junk mail is always in the bin.
