EuroMillions Jackpot of €28.8 Million Won in France

France kept up its excellent EuroMillions record on Friday night as one player from the country landed a jackpot of €28.2 million (£25.9 million). The top prize has now been won three times in the last four draws, fuelling the confidence of fans across Europe ahead of the €130 million Superdraw on Friday 15th September.

The numbers drawn were 3, 7, 8, 14 and 49, with Lucky Stars 5 and 8. A total of more than 2.1 million participants picked up prizes, including a trio of lucky ticket holders who matched five main numbers plus one Lucky Star to win £207,054 (€344,019) each. There were also five players who matched five main numbers to land £28,935 (€48,075) each, but the night belonged to the jackpot winner from France.

France has now produced 87 EuroMillions winners since the game was launched in 2004, putting the country five clear of Spain on 82. The UK is in third place with 68, while all nine participating nations have had multiple winners.

The last few weeks have been particularly fruitful for players, after another player from France won €44.1 million (£40.5 million) on Tuesday 22nd August and a UK ticket holder pocketed £15.7 million (€17 million) in the next draw.

The latest winner can now look forward to splashing the cash like a film star, and perhaps one day their story could even be made into a movie. According to tabloid reports over the weekend, teenage UK EuroMillions winner Jane Park is in talks with Hollywood producers to have her life put on the silver screen.

Anyone who wants to become a big winner, like Jane Park or the lucky player from France, can take part in the next draw on Tuesday by choosing numbers online or going to an authorised retailer in one of the participating countries.
