EuroMillions jackpot is £12 million for Friday 16th September 2011

EuroMillions ResultsFollowing the massive £140/€162 million jackpot that was won on the EuroMillions draw on Tuesday, it is expected that ticket sales for tonight’s draw will be lower than the previous weeks – due to the EuroMillions estimated jackpot opening at the minimum amount of £12/€15 million. However, the chance of winning such a huge prize should not put potential lottery players off, and considering the EuroMillions jackpot is £12 million for Friday 16th September 2011 – wouldn’t you take the chance to be Europe’s next multi-millionaire?

Whilst the identity still remains unknown for Tuesday’s extremely lucky EuroMillions ticket holder, it is believed that the jackpot winner is a resident of the famous brandy-producing area of Calvados, France. The lucky Frenchman or woman has just under 60 days to claim their winnings, which as well as being Europe’s second largest ever lottery win is also the biggest lottery payout in French history.

Despite this jackpot falling short of the biggest ever EuroMillions top prize tier of £161/€185 million, there was only a slight difference of two, maybe three, rollovers to separate these huge winning amounts. At twelve rollovers for France’s biggest lottery payout and fourteen rollovers for the largest ever EuroMillions jackpot, it seems that Europe’s favourite lottery will continue to be popular with its players.

With 2011 already experiencing two record European jackpot winnings, it will be interesting to see if any future EuroMillions results produce any further record European – as well as world – jackpot winners before the year is out.
