Deadline for Illinois Lottery decision

Today it’s the deadline for the Illinois Lottery decision as the Governor of Illinois, Pat Quinn decides whether Northstar Lottery Group or the organisers of the UK National Lottery will become the new managers of the state lottery. The new owners of the UK National Lottery, the Ontario Teacher’s Pension Fund are hot favourites to become the new managers of the Illinois Lottery in what would be their second acquisition within just a year.
The Illinois Lottery is worth £2 billion and it coming to the hands of the Ontario Teacher’s Pension Fund would be a real coup for the company. Just a few weeks ago the sale was completed for the UK National Lottery and the company already made clear they were going to chase several world lottery draws, including the Illinois Lottery.

Northstar, the other lottery company in the running for the US state lottery is a partnership between three separate companies who already own several contacts with the Illinois Lottery but still the UK National Lottery organisers are hot favourites to take over.
Both companies have promised to increase sales on the Illinois Lottery, should they be successful in their bid and both have outlined the ways in which they would do so.
Today is the deadline for the decision on the lottery draw, news that is likely to break tomorrow in the UK. Not that the average UK lottery player need worry about the sale, anything that increases the strength of the lottery company has to be a good thing surely?
