Cork’s Christmas Millionaire Raffle Winner Faces Race Against Time

It should have been a life-changing moment which opened up an endless world of opportunities, but the winner of a €1 million Irish Lotto prize is in danger of missing out on their prize as the deadline to claim the money approaches. They must come forward before the winning ticket expires on 31st March.

Cork’s Christmas Millionaire Raffle Winner Faces Race Against Time

The player won the top prize in the 2016 Christmas Millionaire Raffle, with a ticket bought at the Topaz Service Station on Cork’s Lower Trivoli Road on 21st December. The draw itself was held on 31st December, and the number 179740 was drawn as the winner of the seven-figure prize.

All Irish Lotto prizes expire 90 days after the date of the draw, and now everyone who entered the Christmas Millionaire Raffle is being urged to check their tickets. There were also 3,175 prizes guaranteed, apart from the one worth €1 million, ranging from €500 to €250,000.

As the wait continues to see whether the Cork winner makes contact with Irish National Lottery officials before the end of the month, one lucky player has been able to celebrate this week after landing €500,000 on EuroMillions Plus.

They bought their ticket for the St Patrick’s Day draw in Carlow, and can now start to think about how they would like to spend their winnings. It remains to be seen whether the player from Cork will also win their race against time, but fans can continue trying to win great prizes this week by getting involved in either EuroMillions or Irish Lotto.
