Boost for Irish Lottery Jackpot

Irish Lottery The Irish Lottery has hit the news a few times over the last couple of weeks, with a bumper rollover creating a mystery winner and now yet another rollover the stakes have never been so high. But now we see another boost for the Irish Lottery jackpot as Lottery officials add €2 million to the jackpot in time for the bank holiday weekend draw.

There is no reason for this apart from generosity and the desire to create a big winner. The jackpot had already rolled over after no tickets matched all the winning numbers in last night’s Irish Lottery draw. That draw had a jackpot of €3.4 million. A rollover would usually add around € 1 million to the next jackpot.

The numbers in last night’s Irish Lottery draw are 11, 21, 22, 28, 36 and 45 the bonus ball is 16 and while there were no doubt many smaller winners, none of the tickets sold matched all the numbers to win the jackpot.

But now Irish Lottery officials have decided to add €2 million to the weekend rollover draw and that means a bumper jackpot of around €6.5 million will be up for grabs. It’s possible the jackpot may get even higher than that as the bumper amount gets ticket sales up as lottery fever takes hold.

The weekend draw will be on Saturday 2nd May 2009 and you can purchase tickets for this draw from anywhere in the world by clicking the link above. With €6.5 million up for grabs no doubt there will be a rush to buy extra tickets before the draw.
