Australian Wins $13 million on Lost Ticket

An Australian has won $13 million on a lost ticket, a whole ten months after the draw for which the lucky ticket was purchased. A student, worried about her parents money problems, decided to rifle through a draw holding a pile of old lottery tickets last week and in them discovered an old ticket worth a staggering AU$13 from ten months ago.
The lucky student – who has declined to be named – lives in the West coast city of Perth in Australia and was bought the winning ticket for a draw on July 22nd 2008 as a gift from her father. She had been unaware that the ticket would run out after one year so was incredibly lucky to find it in time.
The student couldn’t say what had made her check the tickets, just that she wanted to help out her parents in their time of need.
The Australian Lottery winner is now celebrating as the win means that the people closest to her will be looked after. She is also considering giving some of the money to research or a charity of some kind.
