Australian Lottery rolls over again

Last week we brought you news of the new Lotto Points from the Oz Lotteries and with that came the news that the Oz Lotto jackpot was up to A$30 million. Well the Oz Lotto draw took place yesterday and the winning numbers are 32 – 8 – 15 – 29 – 10 – 38 – 18, the supplementary numbers were 3 and 39. Despite high-ticket sales, not a single ticketholder matched all the winning numbers and that means the Australian Lottery rolls over again, pushing next week’s estimated jackpot up to A$40 million!
It’s a great time to have a bumper jackpot, especially with the said Lotto Points loyalty reward scheme launching on the Oz Lotteries. The company runs various Australian Lottery draws, with the main of these being the Oz Lotto, a once weekly draw held on Tuesday evenings.
There’s no doubting that A$40 million is a big lottery jackpot but it’s certainly not the highest ever seen on the Australian Lottery. Just last year, two lucky lottery players shared a jackpot worth A$106 million on a draw held on 30th June 2009. It was first expected this jackpot would be around $90 million but a massive rush on ticket sales before the draw pushed the jackpot through the roof.
A$40 million is guaranteed to get Australian Lottery players excited and you can be sure that lottery fever will sweep the country this week. Jackpots this high also attract the attention of World Lottery players so it will be interesting to see just how high the rollover jackpot gets.
