Another Mega Millions jackpot hike

Before the weekend, we brought you news that the Mega Millions Lottery had increased their jackpot amount to $242 million, due to higher than expected sales on lottery tickets. Well, after that the lottery jackpot rolled again on Friday evening, taking the estimated jackpot to $290 million for tonight’s draw. However, ticket sales for the lottery have exceeded expectations again and that means another Mega Millions jackpot hike following on from the jackpot increase for the last draw.
If won by a single lottery player, the now $330 million jackpot winner would become the world’s biggest lottery winner, exceeding the €177 million SuperEnalotto record set in 2010.
This jackpot increase is a staggering $40 million, on top of the already estimated jackpot hike after the rollover. The Mega Millions Lottery is currently big news in the US, the biggest it’s been in a very long time with everyone talking about it. It’s little wonder as it’s now close to the $390 million record set on the lottery in 2007. Two players shared that Mega Millions Lottery jackpot, which meant that while it gained the record for the actual jackpot, the winners did not become record winners.
The previous record winners jackpot was then smashed in 2010 when one lottery ticket matched all the winning numbers in the SuperEnalotto Italy draw, setting the bar at a massive €177 million. If a single lottery player wins this Mega Millions jackpot, then that player instantly enters the record books and will be collecting more than has ever been given away in any lottery in the world.
