When a Euromillions player entered a store in Paris to have his Euromillions ticket checked he thought it was a familiar story to be told he hadn’t won again. Unbeknown to him the ticket was actually a winning one and worth a staggering £28 million, of which the sneaky store holder pocketed for himself, now if that’s not a good reason to play Euromillions online I’m not sure what is.
The Parisian shop owner put the ticket through the lottery terminal and spotted the windfall win but a bell located on the terminal designed to alert customers to their good fortune did not go off as it should. When the disappointed player left the shop the greedy store owner claimed the cash for himself, his wife and a third accomplice.

Luckily French Lottery chiefs were on the ball and noticed that the same Euromillions numbers were being played at the store several weeks after the jackpot claim and police swooped in and arrested the couple.
The culprit’s lawyer told a Paris court that the couple had acted in a “moment of madness” and that they had “had a rush of blood to the head when they saw the value of the lottery ticket”
All three thieves received suspended jail sentences though have remained unnamed to protect the players identity.
