Spanish El Nino Lottery produces many winners

El GordoThe Spanish El Nino Lottery produces many winners this week, just weeks after the Spanish El Gordo paid out over €2 billion. The El Nino may not be quite as big as the Spanish El Gordo Lottery (the fat one) but there was still €840 million to be paid out, making it clear to see why the lottery is so popular across Spain. Winners have come from all over Spain with the top ticketholders in Madrid and celebrations are still continuing and are likely to do so for a while yet.

In a working class area of Madrid, it transpired that the lottery office had sold all the top prize tickets and celebrations in the area went on into the night. Hundreds of players in the area held the winning ticket, and will be sharing the €120 million top prize.

Celebrations across Spain are still continuing with one bar owner collecting over €2 million for having ten winning lottery tickets. Many people share these tickets, as they cost €20 each, which means many small lottery winners across Spain today.

So that’s it now from the Spanish Lottery until the big summer draw. The El Nino (The Child), always held on the Day of Epiphany and so named after the baby Jesus, is over for another year and players are already buying lottery tickets for the big summer draw.

The Spanish Lottery draws are among the biggest world lottery draws and players from all around the world buy tickets and take part and with almost €3 billion given away across the two draws, it’s little wonder.
