In an effort to find the winner before the 90-day claim period expires, Dermot Griffin, the National Lottery’s CEO, issued a rallying statement to the Irish Lotto ticket holders of Limerick: “We’re advising all of our Limerick Lotto players to check their tickets this morning to find out if they have won this life-changing prize,” he told reporters.
"If you are the lucky ticket holder or holders, sign the back of the ticket and contact the National Lottery Prize Claims Team on 01 836 4444. I am looking forward to welcoming the winner into the Winners Room in Lotto HQ soon." The Quick Pick ticket was purchased from the General Post Office on Cecil St in Limerick on the day of the draw.
This is the tenth time the jackpot has been won this year, a total that is now just one win shy of matching the total set in 2016. It is also the second time this year that the top prize has been scooped by a participant from Limerick, following a claim by an anonymous ticket holder in September for a reward worth €2.9 million.

The game’s jackpot may have been won after a run of eight consecutive rollovers, but there were plenty more reasons to be cheerful for players across the Republic as a further 12,853 prizes were won. The additional rewards ranged from a €3 scratch card for matching two numbers and the Bonus (46) to €1,148 for matching five main numbers in the draw.
There was also a big prize winner in Friday’s EuroMillions Ireland Only Raffle, as a single ticket holder correctly matched the code I-CWQ-43032 to win an incredible €1 million. The player, who is yet to make themselves known to National Lottery officials, bought their entry from the SupaValu store at the Kilbarry Centre on Tramore Road in Co Waterford ahead of the draw.
