Daily Mail report Lottery quiz 'fake' row

Reading through the news at the Daily Mail online I came across an article about the National Lottery quiz show which indicates that contestants are not picked randomly as indicate by the show. The 1vs100 show, part of the live draw show on a Saturday night claims that contestants are picked at random to take part in the quiz where they stand to win £100,000.

Pembrokeshire hit by Lottery Scam

How many of you have received emails claiming that you have won the Lottery? I know my personal email inbox sees several on a weekly basis all suggesting I have won millions on the lottery and all I need to do is supply all my personal details including bank details.

People do fall for this type of scam and the latest news I have been reading is about Pembrokeshire County Councils Trading Standards warning residents of a lottery scam originating in Madrid and bearing Euro Stamps.

Unclaimed National Lottery Prizes

I don’t know about everyone else but me personally when I buy a National Lottery ticket then I always watch the draw and check my numbers as they are drawn. I’ve never been lucky enough to win big but have had the odd £10 win and once even managed 4 numbers netting me £75. Not exactly life changing amount of money but not a bad return on a £1 outlay.

In Detroit, USA a man who has worked for the parts division of the Ford Motor company for 35 years has finally said “I’m out of here” to his bosses. David Sneath from Detroit, Michigan won $136 million on the state’s Mega Millions Lottery in March 2008. After taxes he gets to take home a cheque for $59.6 million and plans to spend it on a new house, a fishing boat, and a new car.
