Lotto Plus 5
The UK National Lottery is the main UK Lotto draw, but the UK, like many lottery nations around the world, has several other draws that run alongside or compliment the UK National Lottery. Until early 2011, UK lottery players could take part in the Dream Number draw, which played alongside the main draw, but that has now been replaced by the Lotto Plus 5, which is turning out to be one of the most popular draws ever launched in the UK.
How to play the Lotto Plus 5
The Lotto Plus 5 cost £1 per week to enter and for that you get inclusion into five Lotto Plus 5 draws, working out at just 20p a day. The Lotto Plus 5 is one of the simplest draws from the UK National Lottery to take part in. As it’s a complimentary game, you must play the main Lotto draw to take part, as it’s your chosen lottery numbers that will be used in the Lotto Plus 5 draw. To play the Lotto Plus 5 simply ‘opt in’ by ticking the box on your lottery selection ticket, or selecting the Lotto Plus 5 option when you buy lottery tickets online.
When do Lotto Plus 5 draws take place?
The Lotto Plus 5 is designed to fill in the gaps between the twice-weekly UK National Lottery draws. This means that the draws take place on every day there isn’t a main Lotto draw. If you buy lottery tickets on a Saturday, you will be included in the Lotto Plus 5 draws on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. If you buy lottery tickets on a Wednesday, you will be included in the Lotto Plus 5 draws on Thursday, Friday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
How to win the Lotto Plus 5
As above, all you do is opt in to play the Lotto Plus 5 and this is because the draw uses the lottery numbers you selected for the main Lotto draw. And just like the UK National Lottery draw, you win prizes for matching from three numbers upwards on the daily draw.
Lotto Plus 5 prizes
Unlike the main Lotto draw, Lotto Plus 5 prizes are fixed, as shown below:
- Match 3 - £2.50
- Match 4 - £25
- Match 5 - £250
- Match 5 + bonus - £25,000
- Match 6 - £250,000
As you can see, the prizes aren’t quite what they are on the main draw, although they are incredibly generous when you consider the £1 stake. Fixed prizes mean that once you have checked the Lotto Plus 5 results, you will always know how much you are to receive in winnings.
Good Causes
The Lotto Plus 5 draw is a designated London 2012 game and as such will be helping to raise the remaining £200 million of the cash pledged to the Olympic fund for London 2012.
